Hi Again.
I forgot to note that microclimate also has an effect. Tomato plants =
on a site with early sun and good passive air circulation are less =
vulnerable than the converse. Probably because the plant surfaces dry =
earlier in the day.

I had never heard of late blight until our morning skyline became =
blocked by houses and then by trees that eventually joined canopies such =
that the garden saw full sun for only a few afternoon hours. During this =
period, open skyline to nearly closed, we went from huge crops of tasty =
tomatoes through years of declining crops and declining flavor, then =
poor pollination even when flowers were shaken and finally severe blight =
in some years.

I'm on Glenwood Ave., here in Dartmouth, close to the Breamar =
Superstore & Graham's Grove. My tomato plants are doing very well, so =
far. Both my cherry and Scotia variety have a lot of fruit and are just =
starting to redden up. Here's hoping they don't become infected with =
this blight!=20

We have the blight here in Hantsport and we will be lucky to get any =
crop at all this year. These plants seem fated to fail. They have been =

available including electronic noise makers. Now the stubby plants have =
blight and have lost most of the foliage. Not much hope her for a return =
on my efforts.

Our tomatoes and those of our neighbors, here in downtown Dartmouth, =
have been decimated by late blight. Friends in Clayton Park have also =
lost theirs. I=E2=80=99m wondering how widespread this is. Anyone care =
to comment?
