I visited Cooks Beach near Pinkney's Point in Yarmouth County this morning.=
I took photos of the entire flock of peeps as it was airborne. At home I c=
ounted a group of 100 individuals in the photos and then extrapolated to ge=
t an estimate of the entire flock size. The total was 5500 birds. I estimat=
ed that 80% (4500) were Semipalmated Sandpipers and 20% (1000) were Semipal=
mated Plovers.
