I have seen only occasional single Belted Kingfishers along the lakeshore so far this year. But not so tonight. There were 8-10 moving about the property, some fishing, others going through the woods adjacent to the shoreline, rattling away.

Perhaps adults and recently fledged young of a family? Or maybe BEKIs group before heading back to the coast for the winter? They did not stay still long enough for me to see whether juveniles were present.
