I am 61, was brought up on the Wyman road just south of Yarmouth, and
returned there about ten years ago. The temperature this morning bottomed
out at about 8oC and is now (at about 12:30) at 19oC. This is not the
hottest weather we have had, but 11 degrees in five-odd hours is quite a
jump.

For the first time in my life, as I write, I am hearing a cicada buzz down
here. Have heard lots of them upcountry, where life gets hotter in the
summer, but never down here, nor this close to the coast.

I am not sure why cicadas have discovered this corner of the universe, but
it's interesting how things change.
