I have seen one a couple of times a year at the Alderney ferry terminal for the past few years.

 I saw an otter today
half way across Halifax Harbour from the deck of the
Alderney Ferry. It is the first one I have seen in a couple
of years. I got my camera out but it was so close to the
ferry the autofocus wouldn't lock on with the big
telephoto. I thought it was just a old piece of wood till it
 lifted its head.
