I have received two responses re my house finch ID query - and two
different opinions!
For the first time in 30 years of feeding, a pair of birds I do not
believe I have seen before arrived the first day I put up my winter
feeders and have been visiting frequently ever since. They look to me to
be almost certainly male house finches (I can send pictures if anyone
wishes to confirm this). If definitely house finches,is this good or bad
news for the other regular winter feeders?
Anyone else interested in taking a stab at them?
