Hi Chris,

We can have BEKI all year long and I would think they could be found there
any time as long as it wasn't frozen over.

Here is an eBird NS species map showing Nov-Dec sightings of BEKI for the
last 10 years. Of course most sightings are not in eBird (but that is
changing).

Subject: [NatureNS] Possible Belted Kingfisher - Miner's Marsh

Hi Everyone,

I was at Miner's Marsh (November 2nd) this afternoon. As I crossed the
bridge to enter the marsh I heard a loud chattering. My first thought was
"Belted Kingfisher". This chattering lasted about three seconds and wasn't
repeated. Would a Belted Kingfisher be probable right now at this
location? I'd especially like to hear from people that bird this marsh
frequently. Have you heard a Belted Kingfisher recently? Any other ideas
anyone?

Chris Peters
