Marcos Zentilli, geologist and resident of Purcell's Cove, will lead
folks to a few local quarries.
Beginning in 1759, both granite and slate were exploited by British
troops in Purcell's Cove.
These stones were used to build harbour defenses and many historic
buildings in Halifax.

After the walk, there will be an opportunity to wrap up at the
Purcell's Cove Social Club.
