Beavers go to considerable trouble to make their homes in spots where the water level is not changing=20 all the time and may find tides disconcerting. Not too mention the lower temperature of the salt water. A long time trapper in his 80s told me a few days ago he will not trap this fall for the first time in many years. I asked if he was retiring =E2=80=93 No no he said, too young for that! but the price was so low it wasn=E2=80=99t worth it. So we can look for an increase in beaver populations in the next few years =E2=80=93 Good news for some, not so good for others.
