intrepid birders met at McCormick's<br>Beach, Eastern Passage, for the N.S.=
B.S. and H.F.N. annual Sewer Stroll. <br> Starting with -=
12 deg C temp and a stiff breeze out of the north, we <br>checked out=
the usual sights around Halifax Harbour from Hartlens Point to<br> Po=
int Pleasant Park. <br> Highlights were the Eurasian Kestrel as=
well as 2 Northern Harrier at H.P.<br>Surf & White-winged Scoter at Ea=
stern Passage, as well as the Gadwall pair at the Shearwater <br>Sewage tre=
atment plant, Black Scoter at Pt Pleasant Pk. Turkey Vulture soaring over<b=
r>the cemetary on Wardour St in Bedford, male Green-winged Teal at the Shea=
rwater<br>sewage outlet and Pt Pleasant Park. Barrows Goldeneye at Da=
rtmouth Cove and the <br>mouth of the Sackville River. One Eurasian Widgeon=
and two Am Coot at Sullivans pond<br> Other birds seen =
were - Canada Geese, American Black Duck, Mallard, Greater and <br>Lesser S=
caup, Common Eider, Buffelhead, Common Goldeneye, Red-Breasted Merganser,<b=
r>Bald Eagle, Ring-billed, Herring, Iceland & Great Black-backed Gulls.=
Black Guillemot,<br>Rock Pigeon, Blue Jay, American Crow and Song Sp=
arrow.<br> The remaining six troopers called it a d=
ay at about 15:00 at P.P.P. where the temp had <br>risen to a balmy -9 Deg =
C.<br> These are the birds that I personally =
saw, If others saw something else, please let me<br> know so that I ca=
n add it to the official list that I will submit to HFN & NSBS.<br>&nbs=
p; Thanks to all the participants how maintained their&nb=

e were surprise by a Global TV film crew which turned up in Eastern Passage=
to film our<br> trip and interview some of us birders. We got our one=
minute of fame on the 6:00 PM news.<br>I think they may have been drawn to=
