Upcoming Beginner Bird Walks - "Living in the Dead of Winter"

http://www.nsbirdsociety.ca/index.php/events/field-trips

Saturday, 17 Jan., 10-11:30 a.m., Point Pleasant Park, Halifax
Saturday, 7 Feb., 10-11:30 am, Point Pleasant Park, Halifax

Meet at Black Rock Beach concession stand. We'll seek out coastal and
forest birds in Point Pleasant Park and see and learn about physical and
behavioral adaptations that allow them to survive in the dead of winter.
This chilly but fun walk is a great chance to see interesting seabirds and
coastal waterfowl of Halifax Harbour and, if we're lucky, Purple
Sandpipers. We'll share helpful tips for identifying common birds and
discuss what you can do to help them. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if
you have them (a few spare pairs will be available to borrow). Walk will be
cancelled if raining or snowing. No storm date for this trip.

For more info about these walks, contact Sue Abbott (nsplovers@gmail.com)
