Hi all

Just a reminder that next Tuesday, Feb 3, will be the annual members =
night for the Pictou Co. Naturalists. During the past year many were out =
in the field and captured images of some pretty amazing features of =
nature and a number of presenters will be on hand to reveal the best or =
most interesting tales or photos or artwork of what they observed. =
Always a wonderful variety of subjects one never knows what will be =
presented next - could be an amazing local waterfall, a Barred Owl in =
action, some conservation efforts on local rare species etc. Don't miss =
this presentation at the community room of the New Glasgow Library at =
6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome and bring along a friend!

Below some upcoming events:

Mar 3 Naturalist presentation at New Glasgow Library at 6:30 pm will =
feature local naturalist Mark Brennan with his illustrated presentation =
both visual and auditory on

Seeking The Great Silence. Exploring the old growth forests of Vancouver =
Island Through Art and Sound=20

Mark Brennan local naturalist and landscape artist has been expanding =
his art work into recording sounds in nature. In May 2014 he made a =
trip to Vancouver Island where he captured both sights and sounds of old =
growth forests and he will share this work with us and how this is not =
only a way to preserve these intact wildernesses in art but also how it =
has deepened the sense of wild in him and hopefully to us the audience. =
He will also be speaking on the Garry Oak forest - an amazing ecosystem. =
Mark always puts on a great presentation as his passion for nature pours =
out so mark this in your calendar as one not to miss.=20
