The Nova Scotia Bird Society is pleased to announce the inception of the
NSBS Photo Annual! The inaugural 2014 NSBS Photo Annual will feature
beautiful and noteworthy bird sightings in Nova Scotia in 2014 from photos
contributed by members. This collaborative project is a way for NSBS
members to not only contribute their images and feel connected to the local
birding community, but also to own a keepsake commemorating the provincial
birding year that was. We hope this book will become a yearly tradition
that members and non-members alike will be interested in collecting.

Submission Guidelines for the 2014 NSBS Photo Annual:

   - Submissions are limited to 2014 NSBS members
   - Images must be of wild, unrestrained birds taken in Nova Scotia in
2014 (hybrid and feral birds are acceptable)
   - A maximum of *five (5) image submissions* per member
   - Files should be large TIFF or JPEG
   - Final publication of images will be restricted to *one image per
member*, so even though you may submit five stunning photos, a maximum
   of one will be published.
   - Please include *dates*, *locations*, and *species names* with your
   images.
   - In keeping with NSBS policy, photographs of nesting birds, eggs or
   fledglings are discouraged.

Images will be selected by a panel of members on both the aesthetic merits
of the photograph, and the significance of the sighting. This combination
of factors represents the goal of the book, which is to serve as a visual
reminder of the variety of beautiful and noteworthy birds that made 2014 a
memorable year in birding.
