Good Day All

At 9:30 pm last night I heard a Great-horned Owl hooting up a storm at
 the front of our house.
I quietly opened the door to hear two of them hooting back and forth in
our yard and then two more joined in down the road.
I was able to see the silhouette of one as it flew low across our front
yard into the gully.

My neighbour said he awoke to a thud at the side of his house the other
night and went out to find a stunned Ring-necked Pheasant there and an owl
up in his pine tree.

So 4 Great-horned Owls last night - not too shabby.

This is the first time I have seen or heard an owl on our property since
moving here a year and a half ago.
I knew they must be around but chose not to try to call them for my
amusement due to their harsh winter conditions .I'm surprised they survived
at all.
