It is probably from the snow cover but I've seen Northern Harriers and
Red-tailed Hawks around Sullivan's Pond and Dartmouth Cove recently.

I'm pretty sure that the ID is correct as I had a good look at the bird's
head and underwings.   I was surprised to see this bird.  I usually see
Northern Harriers at coastal areas.
