The Aspotogan Peninsula was still quite snow-covered on April 3, and there
were few signs of spring birds (mostly robins).  The only notable sighting
was a large flock of roosting gulls at the north end of Bayswater Beach.
Among several hundred Herring and Great Black-backed Gulls, there were
25 *Iceland
Gulls* (all immature, the oldest a 3rd winter), and a second-winter *Glaucous
Gull.*  A single adult Ring-billed Gull was locally rare.  There were 15 or
so other immature Iceland Gulls scattered in other harbours.
