I met up with Dorothy Poole today for a birding outing at White Point=2C We=
stern Head=2C Liverpool and to Beach Meadows. On the way there this mornin=
g between LaHave and the Queens County border=2C I had to stop every few mi=
nutes for robins flying in front of the car. There were hundreds. Birds w=
ere everywhere=2C so I suspect a large influx of sparrows and juncos as wel=
l as other species. There was hardly a moment between LaHave and the Queen=
s County border that birds were not zipping across in front of me. Once I =
crossed the border though I saw two American Robins only and two American c=
rows until I reached Liverpool. The numbers of robins were also apparent a=
round Western Head and along the shoreline back to East Berlin and West Ber=
lin. Fox sparrows were heard singing everywhere. I'm not sure how many I =
had today total in both hearing and seeing them=2C but there were a lot. I=
had a killdeer at Beach Meadows=2C two at Andrews Head in East Berlin and =
two at Crescent Beach. I ended the day with 40 species. I also had a comm=
on gull at Crescent Beach. Very little ring on the short bill and lots of =
white in the wing with flight. I tried to get a photo out of the car windo=
w=2C but it flew just as I attempted such. On the way back in the causeway=
=2C I again spotted the gull=2C but in the driving wind and heavy snow I lo=
st sight of it. =20
