Sounds like it might have been sick to run into a building or power line in=
the first place, as we know they are very fine navigators around things, e=
ven wires usually.
The heavy snows and dismal cold weather is keeping their prey under cover. =
=C2=A0I started going to the woods where I know a saw whet hangs out on my =
property and scattering some seeds on the open snow at dusk, hoping rodents=
will be lured out at night to eat them. =C2=A0Not sure if it is working, =
=C2=A0but I have heard him calling several nights when the weather was a bi=
t milder recently.
