Hi all=20
Jim's note below has a reply from Helene from Cobequid rehab. In it is a =
link in her signature where one can make a donation by PayPal or a =
reference to where you can mail a cheque. It only took a couple minutes =
for me to do this this morning and with all the wildlife needing help =
and the depletion of Cobequid rehab food budget maybe others could =
consider a donation as well. Thanks for the forward reminder from Helene =
Jim. She does wonderful work for NS wildlife. Our group members have a =
nice opportunity to lend a hand.=20
Cheers

We've been seeing all sorts of starving birds all winter, and lately =
robins and woodcock. I know you mention the robins you've seen look fat, =
but without actually touching them there's no way to determine their =
condition...only palpation of the breast muscle can do that. I doubt =
there's a pile of fat robins in NS right now.
Have lately had multiple cases where people are traveling to us with =
woodcock, robins, and lately Saw Whets...which are thin and weak enough =
that they've died on the way.
We have a pile of owls here that are holding till the weather breaks for =
release. Not much sense in feeding them all winter only to let them go =
in a food scarcity situation. Bare grass can't come soon enough for me. =
Our food budget for 2014/2015 was surpassed long ago!
