About 5:30 this evening I looked out at the grapevine to see three female
cat birds holding court with 5 males in the vine and more in the trees. It
was hard to count as I had Red-winged blackbirds, starlings as well a way,
way!! too many grackles. I managed to get the camera but Steve, not knowing,
opened the door and everyone either dove or flew up to the trees.
A while later there were the three females again right down into the vines,
and a couple males performing so I have a photo of them, I think. As I took
that, a beautiful white breasted nuthatch arrived. We have a lovely Fox
Sparrow again. I can't say it is one of the many that stopped by or a fresh
bird.
This property should be considered "X-rated" these days. So much gene
passing it is shocking!! and some mixed marriages happening for sure!
Spring , you got to love it. Marg in White Point, Queens April 20, 2015
