It's not every day that a beach resort reaches out to the conservation
community in the US and Atlantic Canada to celebrate an endangered
species! All the more reason to come out and join this special event
hosted by White Point Beach Resort.

Event: International Piping Plover Day: Banding together to celebrate
partnerships

Date: Sunday, 3 May 2015: 10 am-4:30 pm

Location: White Point Beach Resort, White Point, NS

Please join us for a fun day of learning, discussions, and activities on
the beach to celebrate endangered Piping Plovers across the species' North
American range. There's a good chance we'll see one or two Piping Plovers,
too!

Presentations including, "Where do our plovers go?", "Connecting breeding
and wintering grounds", "How are our plovers doing in NS?" and "Three years
of nesting success at White Pt." by Environment Canada, Conserve Wildlife
NJ, Bird Studies Canada and White Pt. Beach Resort.

Meet other bird enthusiasts, biologists from US and Atlantic Canada,
president of Bird Studies Canada, Steven Price, and NS Natural
Resources wildlife
director, Bob Petrie. Learn more about opportunities to get involved here
and on the wintering grounds.

Registration free (lunch not included) - please RSVP at White Pt Beach
Resort to confirm attendance at 1-800-565-5068 ext. 1. "Industry rate" on
accommodations available for participants.

Feel free to contact me with any questions: Sue Abbott (nsplovers@gmail.com
or 902-222-2880).
