Last night and this morning, the air here at Round Hill has a different feel. There has been a frigid "walk-in freezer" feel to the air, but that seems to have lifted over the past 24 hours. Last night, I reported hearing a small but steady chorus of Spring Peepers coming from the woods along Round Hill Brook. This morning, while I was outside splitting kindling, I spotted the first Succinea snails this season, sliding purposefully across the front doorstep. There was much birdsong in the woods when I was out for my morning ramble.
