Some new birds for this season showed up outside my office window
yesterday: Yellow-rumped Warbler, Hermit Thrush, Brown Creeper,
White-breasted Nuthatch, and a Turkey Vulture. Our resident flicker
experimented with enlarging a Hairy cavity, even though it has a
perfectly fine flicker hole about 10 m away.

On Monday, an American Kestrel made a brief appearance.

The Turkey Vulture is the first I've seen here in the 10 years we've
lived on the mountain.

Cheers,
Doug Linzey
Arlington, NS
