  <div>
   Hi All
  </div>
  <div>
   This afternoon being so nice I went to see how the Black-backed gulls were
  </div>
  <div>
   doing at my favorite Lake. Well the lake has started to open but lots
  </div>
  <div>
   of ice yet. The ice still is white so must be quite thick.
  </div>
  <div>
   I saw 3 pairs of Gulls. Not nearly as many as there used to be but
  </div>
  <div>
   hard to tell if the weather is not to their liking. The sanitization of the
  </div>
  <div>
   local dumps has reduced gull numbers. Then again I could only see
  </div>
  <div>
   a small portion of the area the colony usually populated.
  </div>
  <div>
   However there was a pair of eagles with an immature eagle and a mature eagle
  </div>
  <div>
   around the lake. The pair flew in and sat in a tree but there didn&#39;t seem to be a nest
  </div>
  <div>
   in the tree. The two lone eagles were widely separated and seemly no connection.
  </div>
  <div>
   Five pairs of Canada Geese there also. probably the Allan Graham sub-species.
  </div>
  <div>
   One pair looked like they had a nest but they weren&#39;t very close.
  </div>
  <div>
   The eagles would find a goose dinner delicious no doubt. So the geese were
  </div>
  <div>
   keeping a watch.
  </div>
  <div>
   A lovely afternoon.
  </div>
  <div>
   Enjoy the ice and snow before it disappears!
  </div>
  <div>
   Paul
