About 70 *Tree Swallows* buzzing around Miner's Marsh today at lunch. Many
investigated and perched on several of the new nest boxes. One entered a
box.

The *previously photo'd, banded individual (right leg CWS silver band, left
leg dark/black band) was not observed*. However, I got a long, clear, close
look through the scope at what is *possibly a second banded bird*. This
bird was facing the scope, standing on top of the box and both legs could
be seen well; the right leg had a silver CWS band and the left leg had no
bands. The usual alternative explanations are possible: that the black band
fell off the first individual, or it had slid far enough up the left leg to
be hidden by feathers.

A Barred Owl calling also.

cheers,
James
