highlights from the past day at Miner's Marsh...

Miner's Marsh 10 May, 8:30 pm:
1 *Sora*
2 *Barred Owls *caterwalling
3 *Pied Billed Grebes* (occupying both east and west marshes)
4 *Tree Swallows* (none at boxes, foraging high in sky; apparently during
pre-laying season they can roost up to several km from their nest sites at
night...)

Miner's Marsh this morning:
1 *Blackpoll Warbler* (singing in deciduous trees at west edge of Marsh)
15 *Yellow-rumped Warblers* (in a flock by the bridge, calling only)
2 *Eastern Kingbirds *
1 *Evening Grosbeak*
~20 *Tree Swallows* (from a brief watch from my point count station I could
see that at least 8/12 boxes were being 'defended' by 'pairs')
