Sue Beaver a friend of mine at Garden Lots was looking out the window at an=
American crow feeding on the ground. Six deer came along. The crow immed=
iately hopped onto the back of the first one and started to peck. The deer=
soon ran off. The crow then moved to the back of the next deer in line an=
d started to peck=2C with the same results of that deer soon leaving. The =
same process occurred with the remaining four deer. I can only speculate a=
s to why this occurred. The first scenario doesn't jive as the crow flew o=
ff after the deer were gone. This theory is that there was a good food sou=
rce there that the American crow wanted and therefore forced the deer to mo=
ve off. The second theory I have is that the deer might have had parasites=
such as mites or ticks on their backs that the crow was after. Sue doesn'=
t think so from the American crows actions. Play by the American crow woul=
d be another potential thought that comes to my mind. Anyhow=2C any other =
theories for this behaviour would be welcome. =20
