Bertin d'Eon and I were on my Zodiac approaching the northern shores of Mor=
ris Island=2C Yarmouth County on May 29=2C 2015=2C when we noticed a very d=
ark mammal bouncing from near the water's edge towards the woods. We were a=
pproximately 200-300 feet from the animal when we saw it. It moved in a bo=
uncing fashion at a medium pace. It was all dark with no discernible colour=
patterns. The tail was fluffy and fairly long (maybe half the length of th=
e body). It seemed to be about 1 m or more in length including the tail. It=
was much shorter legged than any sort of feline or canine.
We browsed through a few NS wildlife books as well as the Audubon's Wilflif=
e App on my phone and are left with Fisher as the best candidate.=20

I do have photos of tracks that were near where the animal was. They can be=
 found here:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/78b19w7mnkuhckt/AACvr8eHlLBUePfx_vh6=

Here is the location of the sighting:https://www.google.ca/maps/@43.7813636=
