Subject: [NatureNS] Never Forgotten monument proposal for CBHNP

Dear Sir/ Ms,
=20
In my opinion the war dead would turn in their graves if they knew about =
this travesty of Canadian values to be supposedly built in their memory. =
They fought to preserve democracy, nature, freedom of expression, a way =
of life, and natural unspoilt beauty as personified in our national =
parks. How dare some tycoon foist his ideas on the rest of in the form =
of this monstrosity of a statue, in a beautiful unspoiled part of our =
country, and especially in a national park. Surely we can remember our =
war dead in our hearts, or if there has to be some kind of actual =
structure, it should be something restrained and tasteful. If someone =
feels they need to build a 3 storey high concrete statute with =
outstretched arms, perhaps they should build it in their own back yard =
instead of a beautiful, ecologically sensitive and wild area of our =
province.
