My mother has been commenting on a confused territorial Pine Siskin for the past 2 weeks (Bridgewater). It sits on the side mirrors of her car several times each day for about half an hour. It must see its reflection in the side windows and then flaps its wings scattering droppings and feathers. Eventually it goes to the opposite side mirror and repeats this activity. While crossing b/t mirrors it also has a go at the windshield. Once it leaves, Mom goes out and cleans up the feathers etc so they won't harden onto the vehicle. She is hoping it will not be defending its territory against its "rival" for the rest of the summer and may have to park in the back driveway for a while.
