I have been watching with interest the gradual shrinking of a snow bank on the edge of Bedford. It was formed by clearing a large parking lot across from Clearwater Lobsters. At one point this winter a backhoe was brought in to compact the snow, and then pile more on top. It must have been more than 20 feet high in March. It's down to just a couple of feet now, an icy crust in a ditch below some steep shady woods. It is also partly obscured by crusher dust. I'm waiting to see if it will hang on till the first day of summer. Patricia L. Chalmers Halifax
