   Hi All
  </div>
  <div>
   Yesterday a friend and I went to the Annapolis River for
  </div>
  <div>
   some late season shad fishing. The number of fish in the river
  </div>
  <div>
   is amazing. They have spawned and were returning to the sea
  </div>
  <div>
   a steady stream of fish going by all along the river. One of Nova Scotias
  </div>
  <div>
   marvels of nature!
  </div>
  <div>
   There was clouds of shad alewins in the quite water along the banks.
  </div>
  <div>
   Little fellows about 2 cms long and the size of a thread. In 2 to 3 months they
  </div>
  <div>
   will be 10 - 12 cms long. Deep chunky little fellows, Another marvel of nature is
  </div>
  <div>
   how the river can produce enough food to get them to the stage where
  </div>
  <div>
   they can go to the ocean!
  </div>
  <div>
   When we got to the river in one spot we disturbed an eagle who was fishing. It
  </div>
  <div>
   flew by just a few feet away. An impressive bird at short range. Another
  </div>
  <div>
   raptor circled over head. Just above the tree. Quite dark under the body and wings
  </div>
  <div>
   and quite large. A good flyer.
  </div>
  <div>
   Tiger Swallowtails were plentiful along the river as well as little blue butterflies.
  </div>
  <div>
   The red maple seeds were falling like a snow squall in places. They sure produce enough
  </div>
  <div>
   seed to reproduce the trees! If all the seeds grew we would have wall to wall maples.
  </div>
  <div>
   A great day - enjoy the last of spring
  </div>
  <div>
   Paul
