I'm sure it would be a common sighting for some on this list but I just ran
across the biggest turtle I ever saw. I think it is a Common Snapping Turtle
but correct me if I'm wrong.

It was right in the middle of the trial on my way back. ATVs do go on this
trail but it was very large and I'm sure it would be readily seen well in
advance. I always stop to move a turtle across the road if I see one
crossing a road which has cars. I assume that is okay? What about this
instance with the snapper. Picking it up would not be an option but should I
have tried to encourage to cross the trial? I don't know that was its
intention though, maybe it just wanted to stop in the middle and bask in the
sun.

I have a few pics here. I should have put something in one of the frames for
perspective because these pics do not convey its massive size.
