I am also hearing a lot of similar sounds just now and after some 
unsuccessful sound searches (including crow nestlings), have also come 
to the tentative conclusion they may be young bluejays - there certainly 
seem to be a lot of them blundering around just now and (I presume?) 
calling their parents for food......?
