Good Day- the fledgling Tree Swallows finally left their nest box this
morning and did a nice fly around the yard for a couple of hours before
heading off.

Looks like 4 youngsters were produced this year.

Two observations from this season's activities:

1. Seemed to be three adults feeding the young in the nest box.
2. For the past week there was a group of 8 other tree swallows that
visited the yard a couple of times each day- flying around the active nest
box, going in and out of the other unused nest nest box and cavorting in
the air. Almost like they were friends coming to check out the progress of
my swallow clan.

OK - the question - will Tree Swallows raise a second brood this year or
just the one?

Thanks, Ron Wilson
              Somerset NS
