In Halifax, I noticed a vine I had not seen before.
It has a palmately-compound leaf with five leaflets.
The leaf margin is smooth.
My best guess is that it is Five-leaf Akebia (*Akebia quinata*).
Some info at: http://www.carolinanature.com/trees/akqu.html

Question to botanists on this list:
=E2=80=8BThis Akebia is considered frost hardy, thus likely to survive our =
winters.
Is it commonly planted in Nova Scotia?
Does it flower here? (I did not see any flowers on the specimen.)
Could it be(come) a nuisance plant?

Thanks for any insight,
Burkhard
