Hello:
    Someone who keeps bees or those who know bee-keepers may be able to =
correct this but logically one would expect foraging bee density on =
available flowers to peak about now (and much later when flowers are =
even more infrequent); assuming no hives are exported for pollination =
elsewhere.=20

    Crop demands (tree fruits, small fruit, blueberries) are past, if =
all has gone well the hive population will have increased over the last =
two months and must now get by on slim pickings until goldenrods, asters =
and other fall flowers come into bloom; i.e. more bees concentrated onto =
fewer flowers.=20

    Later in the year, when most goldenrods, asters and other Composite =
(if I can sneak that old but descriptive name in) are fading out =
Japanese Knotweed will often be swarming with Honey Bees.

  Like Hubcove, I too am seeing honeybees everywhere in the Wolfville =
area.  Cheers from Jim

    Most likely it's a male, is looking for salt, and is attracted to =
the jumbo-sized sweaty, salty human salt lick...
