A colleague at work, Jon Stone, mentioned today that he had seen =
a magpie, presumably a Black-billed Magpie, at Northwood Park in =
Dartmouth, on Sunday evening. He though initially that it was a =
grackle, but then had a good look at it and noted extensive white on the =
underparts. He also heard calls. He has watched for it since, but not =
seen it again.

Coincidentally, his son reported seeing one in Windsor last =
week, as well.

Jon wondered whether the extensive fires in the west were =
perhaps moving some western birds our way.

        Cheers,
        Susann Myers=20
