Dear All, Aug 30, 2015
On Aug 17 I brought in a load of wood and carried some armloads of small
to the truck in the crook of my left arm. When I got home and washed I found
a red raised area on my left forearm, distal of the elbow crease by about 1
cm; dull red, about as large as a quarter and raised about 3 mm in the
middle. The next day the joints of my left hand, digits and wrist, ached
noticably but only a few hours that one day. Over the following 13 days the
red area has gradually become fainter and lower; now still almost quarter
sized but barely present .

I was not aware of having been stung where the reddish area is but the
wood tier was also a red ant apartment and I had many ant bites; a mild
sting would have been dismissed as just another ant bite.

There frequently are spiders in these wood shelters and sometimes
centipedes. So I am wondering if any of our species might be able to do
this; cause these symptoms without a noticable (painful) sting.

There is no halo and I eliminated deer tick because it is not like a
tick
to bite and run.
