I am always so amazed to read these reports. =C2=A0What a wonder we can hav=
e a record like this, certainly gives a good snapshot of the bird species i=
n NS and north of us, and what they are doing. =C2=A0Interesting to think o=
f the birds I might see turn up here on migration for a day or two and then=
headed down Yarmouth way! =C2=A0Wouldn't I love to know what it's like for=
the birds, not a "fly on the wall" but that kind of thing. =C2=A0A "bird's=
eye view" of migration. =C2=A0The more I learn about migration the more I =
want to know! =C2=A0Thanks again for sharing!

cturnal migration over Carleton, Yarmouth Co., was the heaviest so far this=
year. The total call count was 1,698 which represents an estimated minimum=
number of 1,296 individual birds. Warblers still dominated the night skies=
with 86% of all calls. Sparrows at 8% surpassed thrushes (4%) for the firs=
t time. The peak night of the week and of the fall season was the night of =
September 16-17 when 524 night flight calls were recorded. Despite this pea=
k, the steady passage of Magnolia Warblers (329), Common Yellowthroats (212=
), and Blackpoll Warblers (135) throughout the week was impressive. The mos=
t common sparrow was Savannah at 51 calls, and the most common thrush was S=
wainson=E2=80=99s at 57 calls. This week saw a strong increase in the numbe=
r of Palm Warblers (from half a dozen per week to 46 calls). The only rare =
bird this week was Wood Thrush, the second one this year. A summary for the=
week is provided below. Formatted tables and additional information can be=
