Could this not simply be a young leech ? The leeches which I have =
fed/seen have all been larger and dark on the dorsal surface but =
presumably they start from small eggs and a tiny pale leech would =
perhaps escape notice and be more likely to not be eaten.

The critter was certainly alive and well, not a plastic imitation.
