Thanks Richard, it was close to where I saw the one last year but the =
difference was yesterday it was on the 2nd little island from the =
western edge of the western pond. Last year we saw it moving along the =
southern shore of the western pond.=20

The Pied-billed Grebe warning is date related but there is a problem =
with the way its filter is setup and I passed the note on about it. I =
remembered later that the same thing was happening with them last year =
at this time. They are not flagged as an eBird rarity (they are =
available to select before you click on Show Rarities) but their count =
gets flagged with a high count warning (probably with a count > 0 I =
suspect).=20
PBGR is the only species where I've noticed this behavior. It appears =
the filter was setup by flagging counts > zero after a certain date =
rather than flagging them as a rarity.

Nice shots Keith. I was there from 10:20 - 12:30, with Harold Forsyth, =
and never saw it as clearly. Interesting, as it's within a few metres of =
where the western Marsh wren was in Oct - Dec. 2012 and 2014. BTW I =
assumed that the Ebird query on the Pied billed grebes was because of =
the date rather than the number. I only saw 2 today, but a few days ago =
there were 5, and I didn't have to provide any comments on Ebird.

I spent quite some time yesterday and today with the Marsh wren. It's =
quite vocal, but for over an hour today all we could get were very =
brief glimpses as it flitted about low in the thick cat tails. At one =
point it was briefly joined by a Common yellowthroat. I'll keep trying =
for a photo.

Hi All,
Today at about 4:15 I had three quick glimpses of what I believe is a =
marsh wren at Miner's Marsh in Kentville. The bird was in the cat tails =
at the following Google Maps marker:
45.079340, -64.488918
The continuous scolding was what caught my attention. I stood for about =
ten minutes waiting for the bird to come into view, I saw it briefly =
three times. A dark cap with light supercillium and then a dark line on =
the side of its face through the eye. The back was dark brown with light =
streaks over the upper back. The tail was cocked upward once when the =
bird briefly appeared. It skulked in the cat tails and the movement of =
the cat tails revealed its position. In all I saw the bird for only 15 =
to 18 seconds! (three views each five to six seconds)
The Cornell bird site's scold note recording matches what I heard this =
afternoon.
Hopefully the bird will remain in location as one did here in the past!!
George Forsyth
