Hi Paul:

No, I don't have the expertise to eliminate Bonaparte's or even really haza=
rd a guess as to what it might be other than ?maybe a hybrid or partly leuc=
istic bird. At first glance it appeared to be "a white gull" and as it flew=
over I got an excellent look at the underside - the body and wings were pr=
istinely white: no smudges, shading or edges at all. But, of course, the he=
ad and tail matched first winter Bonaparte's, so ???.

Another one for the "Mystery Gull" files, I guess.

Happy New Year.

Lynn

Hi:

A smallish gull with all-white body and wings, black tail band (tail was th=
e usual shape) and head markings like winter Bonaparte's (there may have be=
en a little more shading) flew over me in the Wal-Mart parking lot at Mumfo=
rd Road this morning (Tuesday, 29 Dec 15) at 0930 heading north-east.

Happy New Year.

Lynn
