Long-eared owl and northern saw-whet were both found today for the Lunenbur=
g Christmas Bird Count by Fulton Lavender and Dottie Welsh in the area of H=
eckman's Island. Both of these birds are not listed yet on the winter list=
. =20
=20
A species was also found that will need to be sent off for review once I ge=
t a full report for the rare bird form. Hopefully Kevin Lantz or myself wi=
ll be able to relocate this species for photo documentation=2C which will m=
ake the review process easier. All I can say at this point is that it was =
a species that was on the winter list more than 20 years ago. =20
=20
We are sitting at 81 species at the moment=2C with five teams unreported ye=
t and a number of feeder watcher reports yet to come.=20
