Hi All,
On Dec. 10th I had a report of a huge flock (1000-5000) unidentified bi=
rds observed around Bay St. Lawrence. I was sent a couple of long range pho=
tos of part of the flock in a tree against a bright sky.
Through what I could make out from the photos, some discussion with the=
observer and a bit of educated guesswork I concluded the flock was most li=
kely made up of Waxwings. I wasn't able to determine whether they were Ceda=
r or Bohemian.
A couple of small Cedar Waxwing flocks were seen locally a few days lat=
er on the Aspy Bay CBC but the giant flock was never seen again.Perhaps thi=
s newly observed flock is the same as the one seen in Bay St. Lawrence on D=
ec. 10th. All the best.

I am sure we will soon see them seeking food in other parts of the provin=

s no way of contacting the birder... while we can with the other sources: R=
BA, NatureNS, and Facebook.
