How does an American Pipit sound? They DO pump their tails as they walk. =
It maybe this one.

Subject: [NatureNS] Likely Hermit thrush

Wandered away from the computer about fifteen minutes ago, and took a look =
at our quince bush, which lies about 10 feet north of the kitchen window. =
There was perched a different bird, and my initial reaction was "fox sparro=
w." Then, "Hold it the breast is lightly spotted, there's a bit of an eye-=
ring. Hold it, the bill is wrong. It's pumping its tail slowly." As I wa=
s trying to see the back colour, it skedaddled.

A thrush. Does any thrush other than a hermit pump its tail?

Fine weather down here on Wyman Road, south of Yarmouth.
