It appears I updated too soon. The Long-billed Dowitcher is a nice addition=
to our WBL and brings our total to 194

Subject: [NatureNS] The Blake Maybank Winter Bird List begins the DoWL phas=
e tomorrow

As a subset of the Winter Bird List, the Depth of Winter List (DoWL) begins=
tomorrow and runs for the month February. This is where the hardy birders =
find the hardy birds (except if you live in the Banana Belt=E2=80=94you don=
=E2=80=99t have be hard to bird there!) We average 147 species for February=
, we somehow managed 149 last winter (talk about hardy birders and birds) a=
nd we had 153 species during the winter of 2012/13. Time to go re-find some=
 of our recent rarities.=20

Our overall WBL remains at 193, 4 species shy of our average and 9 species =
less than last year.
