Yes, good news.

 

The only thing that troubles me is that the location (in a national park)
was not quoted as one reason for not going forward.  Wonder if the project
would have got the nod, in the absence of concerns about funding and design
(whatever that means).

 

If it must be built, put it somewhere else, not in a place where
environmental preservation is a priority.

Hi All,

     

This comes as no surprise to me but, according to the CBC, Parks Canada has
withdrawn support for the 'Mother Canada' statue that was planned for the
CBHNP. I doubt this monument will now ever be built as without the park site
and government financial backing it has no real viability. Good news for
park lovers, particularly the CBHNP, and fans of natural habitats
everywhere. All the best.
