The Nova Scotia Bird Society is pleased to announce the return of the NSBS Photo Annual! The sophomore edition of the NSBS Photo Annual will feature beautiful and noteworthy bird sightings in Nova Scotia in 2015 from photos contributed by members. This collaborative project is a way for NSBS members to not only contribute their images and feel connected to the local birding community, but also to own a keepsake commemorating the provincial birding year that was. We hope to continue this yearly tradition that members and non-members alike will be interested in collecting. Submission Guidelines for the 2015 NSBS Photo Annual: =C2=B7 Submissions are limited to 2015 NSBS members =C2=B7 Images must be of wild, unrestrained birds taken in Nova Sco= tia in 2015 (hybrid and feral birds are acceptable) =C2=B7 A maximum of five (5) image submissions per member =C2=B7 Files should be in watermark-free, JPEG format, and be at le= ast 1200 pixels on the long edge =C2=B7 Images should be faithful representations of their subjects, i.e., unmodified except using typical adjustments such as cropping, levels, sharpening, etc. =C2=B7 Final publication of images will be restricted to one image = per member, so even though you may submit five stunning photos, a maximum of one will be published. =C2=B7 Please include dates, locations, and species names with your images. =C2=B7 In keeping with NSBS policy, photographs of nesting birds, e= ggs or fledglings are discouraged. Images will be selected by a panel of members on both the aesthetic merits of the photograph, and the significance of the sighting. This combination of factors represents the goal of the book, which is to serve as a visual reminder of the variety of beautiful and noteworthy birds that made 2015 a memorable year in birding. If one of your images is selected, I will request a bit of background on the sighting (thanks Andy de Champlain for the idea) so you can convey why the experience was a memorable one!
