Keith is probably referring to the extra-early Tree Swallows who arrived la=
st year, and never made it, along with the Robins, Woodcock, etc. because o=
f Old Man Winter refusing to leave... thus those "early birds" weren't able=
to pass it on "through the grape-vine" so to speak (whatever communication=
s birds might use) NOT TO ARRIVE EARLY in Nova Scotia! Applying to all over=
ly-optimistic representatives of whatever species.=C2=A0
However, today notwithstanding, this Winter, and I daresay the Spring to fo=
llow, are/will be nothing like last year. Hope this is Winter's last skirmi=
sh, I still have PTSD from last year. Here I have had no Spring arrivals ye=
t, but I did hear a Saw-whet owl calling from his territory (same spot as l=
ast year) several nights when it was warm last week.
